More than a Jewish Holocaust

Oh, there is one thing that puzzles me about our modern thinking about the Holocaust, and how it has given the Jewish People a special pass on any behavior. You see, over 70 million people died as victims of World War Two. Only six million were Jews. So why is it that Jews are now today considered as virtually the ONLY victims of the Holocaust. After all, a huge proportion of the World’s Gypsy Community was also murdered off, but where is their Blank Check? Property Laws have not been suspended because millions of Gypsies died in the camps or were shot dead in the fields. Equally, they were not provided with a Country somewhere that they could just shove into, displacing the existing population and taking it all for themselves. And 20 Million Russians were also killed, but when it was all over the Russians, far from being rewarded for all of their suffering and loss, were treated like they were the Enemy, and just because they retained some interest in the territories which they and nobody else had succeeded in liberating. More than just victims, they were the Heroes and Saviors in that Grand Story. But their every moral claim is brushed aside. There is only one claim that counts.

10% of the casualties have taken 100% of the Historical Sympathy. I suppose the argument is that the Jews are indeed the Chosen People of God and that the rest of everybody really do not matter in the Greater Scheme of Things (an easy thing for the Jews to believe, but why would the rest of us so easily allow ourselves to be dismissed, as, well, sub-human? The same Doctrines and Belief Sets coming from anybody else would probably be considered Supremacist or Racist. Just let any White, European or Japanese Politician claim to be the Chosen People of God, and we’d see how such ideas are treated when they do not come from the Word of God!

Oh, there may be other reasons why only the Jews, and not the Poles, or the Russians, or the Slavs or the Gypsies, decided to turn the tragedies of World War Two into great Victories for their Public Relations status in the World. Maybe it is simply a matter that most people would have thought it in bad taste to capitalize on their Suffering. Most people endure and move forward with their lives and would be ashamed to claim a special dispensation for themselves when in fact everybody suffered, some even worse. Not every people so dedicates themselves to making the best of their bad bargains. Well, how could we ever expect them to, when it has been working out so well for them?
The Jews say, in regards to the Holocaust, that they will ‘never forget’. But perhaps their real priority should be in ‘remembering’ – remembering that Religion comes with a moral imperative to do what is right. And it may perhaps be time for the rest of the World to remember that there is a difference between Right and Wrong, and that suffering a wrong does not entitle one to commit further wrongs, which would be only to perpetuate Evil.

Yes, the Jews say they will never forget, that is, yes, it seems that they will never forget everything that Adolf Hitler had taught them. Yes, we all might wish that the Jews had not remembered so extremely well. It is like they took detailed procedural notes that they could refer to later. The Palestinians are now getting all the same treatment that the Nazis had served up to the Jews, but now it is all under the auspices of the Star of David in place of the Swastika. But the World came to the rescue of the Jews. The Palestinians only have God.
